I was on a mission in 1976 to meet and photograph the reclusive Bob Dylan. I loved his music and he was my hero. My best pal, Rodney Bingheimer and I just happened to be hanging out at The Roxy when all of a sudden Dylan walks past us heading backstage. I snapped this photo of Rodney just at the precise moment Dylan passed! This kind of shit just does not happen anymore these days.
Anonymous asked: Out of all the stars you've photographed throughout the years, who's amazed you the most?
Robert Zimmerman!
A young and handsome Leonard Cohen backstage at The Starwood with Devo. Let’s see, that’s Bob Dylan’s pal David Blue in the front row and the girl is Martine Getty.

All of the fans at The Maine concert had cameras and having the time of their lives taking photos. These wonderful young fans reminded me so much of me taking photos of The Ramones and Bob Dylan on that same floor thirty plus years ago. It was sort of emotional.
Dylan was my greatest hero. He was such a poet and certainly not an easy subject to photograph. I took this photo of him with Ronee Blakley was shot backstage at The Roxy in 1976. Tomorrow evening, I will be back at The Roxy to take photos of The Maine and it is going to bring back wonderful joyous memories.
The first time I ever photographed Bob Dylan offstage. He is speaking to his pal David Blue at a party for Rod Stewart and The Faces at The Green House in L.A ini 1976. I never slept that night!
