permalink Never before published photo of Joan Jett shoving a rather large sandwich from Duke’s into her face! Dukes was the legendary coffee shop at The Tropicana Motel where we were all regulars. I loved the giant Italian Burger. By the way, that is my friend Darcy Diamond sitting there next to Joni!

permalink Backstage Pass was a band made up of girls who were involved in the music industry. That was 1978 and the chicks in the band were a collection of journalists, record company executives and groupies. It was all great fun and they played The Starwood all the time. Our pal Rodney Bingheimer, The Mayor Of The Sunset Strip, is the guy on the left with his classic “No Head- No Backstage Pass” t shirt. That is the way it was back then. No Head-No Backstage Pass!

permalink Yep, I am sitting on Joan Jett’s bed at the lovely Tropicana Motel in downtown West Hollywood in 1978. She was such a dream to photograph.
