Vicki Razor Blade from Venus And The Razor Blades with teenage Cherie Currie. I took this photo in the street in front of Cherie’s family home back in 1977.
I was at every Runaway concert and sound check and I always brought my camera!!
Thank you No Thoughts magazine for featuring four pages of my early photographs their new issue # seven. I will never forget this moment! Love, brad
Here I am today at Santa Monica Catholic High School dissecting my photo of Marie, Vickie Razor Blade and Cherie Currie from 1977. I told the class that it does not matter what kind of camera you use and always try and capture a moment. I also told the class not to be afraid of self promotion. You can see here that I always practice what I preach!

When I was growing up and living at my parents house in the San Fernando Valley, I had this yearning to get over the hill to the Sunset Stip. It was an yearning to get over the hill to the action and freedom. By 1976, I was still in my teens and I was pretty well established at my own pad on the Sunset Strip and my trips back to the valley were seldom and only to see my family. One day in the summer of 1977 Cherie Currie called to come over to her parents house deep in the valley. She wanted me to take some photos for The Runaways Japanese record company. I was never thrilled going to the valley, but I knew that I could make some cool photographs of Cherie at home. Joining in the photo shoot was her twin sister Marie and the drop dead gorgeous Vicki Razor Blade from Venus And The Razor Blades, a Kim Fowley creation. Today, I still stay out of the valley unless it is to visit my family. I hope that you enjoy this frame which has never been published before. It’s entitled “San Fernando Valley Chicks”.
My pal Harvey Kubernik had his birthday party at a party house out in Encino in 1977. Everyone was there including Vicki Razor Blade and legendary producer Kim Fowley. Kim discovered both The Runaways and Vicki. He created Venus And The Razor Blades just for his queen, Vicki. Oh yeah, as you can see, I was not the only photographer at the party, that is my mentor and pal Richard Creamer in the middle of the photo!
