Suzie Quatro has a guest in Rodney On The ROQ’s radio show back in 1978. The Runaways were all great fans of Suzie’s and Sandy West and Joan showed up out of respect. I stood in the corner of the tiny studio and quietly took some photos.
This photo is a rare outtake from that session I did with Joan Jett and Sandy West from The Runaways on Santa Monica pier when they order and consumed french fries. The session was from 1977 and the french fries were so amazing. I am not sure if it was the light, our youth or the french fries, but it was all so cosmic. Stella Maeve is so full of life and such a pleasure to photograph. We took some photos on the beach and as the sun began to set, she asked if we could go to Venice for some street photos. Just like the photos I did on the street back in the 70’s.
It doesn’t matter what kind of camera you have. You don’t need to spend alot of money for a cool camera. It’s all about capturing a moment. I shot this photo of Stella Maeve on a Contax T3 point and shoot camera with black and white film.
Stella Maeve made sure that I took some photos of her with black and white film. Her generation is fascinated with film!
