Cool photos from the 70's and today!
I was on a mission in 1976 to meet and photograph the reclusive Bob Dylan. I loved his music and he was my hero. My best pal, Rodney Bingheimer and I just happened to be hanging out at The Roxy when all of a sudden Dylan walks past us heading backstage. I snapped this photo of Rodney just at the precise moment Dylan passed! This kind of shit just does not happen anymore these days.

One evening in 1976, I drove to the Sugar Shack with my pal Rodney Bingenheimer where we met up with Kim Fowley. It was on that evening when Kim met Cherie Currie and The Runaways was born. Last night, after thirty years, I returned to The Shack with actress Ana Coto and I showed her where all of us danced to Bowie and made out in the parking lot under the stars. No one can take those memories from me.

NO HEAD-NO BACKSTAGE PASS! Backstage Pass was an all-girl group that consisted of a mix of journalists and music insiders. I do not think they were ever signed to a record label, but that did not stop the magazines from publishing their photos. Pictured here with the band is Rodney Bingenheimer, the Mayor of the Sunset Strip. He is the single person who helped me most in my career. He took me around and introduced me to everyone on the scene in the Seventies. We are still good friends today. Check out his t-shirt. It really makes this photo!
