Cool photos from the 70's and today!
In 1978 Robert Plant went fucking ape shit on me as I photographed him at my local Encino park playing soccer. I had a tip that he was there and it was all legal for me to take his photo, but he would have none of it. He surrounded me with all of his roadie-bodyguards and demanded my business card. He gave the the usual shit that I would never work in this town ( L.A.) ever again. Yeah, but I was a teenage kid and it was my fucking park so I just stood my ground and got the hell out of there. I already had my photos and you could not beat what I had already captured, a rock god with kicking a soccer ball in a skimpy speedo. I really hope that I can meet Robert for a drink one day and have a laugh about that afternoon.

This was 1976 backstage at The Starwood. My good pal and photo mentor RIchard Creamer invited Robert Plant to the opening night of The Runaways Starwood concert. Plant adored Richard and he had great respect for his photography and creativity. Leave it to Richard to make Plant this cool t shirt that said “Robert Loves Kim”! So cool that Pant would wore the shirt out of respect for Fowley. Richard was over the moon, we all got photos and the Japanese magazines went nuts! Yep, that is legendary rocker Michael Des Barres with Plant.
