Back in 1976 moments after I met Bob Dylan for the first time, he let me take some photos of him and then he sent me downstairs at The Roxy on a mission to bring up a young actor named Robert DeNiro to meet him. If I live to be a very old man, I will never forget those moments.
Bob Dylan asked me if I would take his photo to a young actor named Robert De Niro. Dylan instructed Sally Kirkland to go downstairs and ask De Niro to come up for the meeting. Bob did the pose up and I took the photo. Since I did not have a clue who De Niro was, I thought that he was just some guy getting in the way of my Dylan photo.

Bob Dylan made a big deal about me taking his photo with a young actor named Robert De Niro. He wanted the photo in the worst way! Bobbie sent Sally Kirkland (the blonde in this photo) to go downstairs at The Roxy and drag up an amazed De Niro. I just happened to be the lucky kid hanging around with the camera back then in 1976. The other chick in the photo is singer Lainie Kazan and we were all backstage after Ronee Blakley’s performance. If only these kind of cosmic evenings happened today!
