Back in 1976 I put a bunch of color Kodak slides of The Runaways, KISS and Queen into a suitcase and headed to Stockholm to vist Hans Hatwick the publisher of Poster Magazine. Hans published so many of my photos for years and he became a good supporter of my early work. Here I am in front of his Stockholm office with my brand new Aquascutum overcoat that I had just bought in London a few days earlier!
The Book Soup newsstand last night.
A big sing along pile up at Harvey Kubernik’s birthday party in Encino in 1977. Let’s see, there is Kim Fowley, Steven T from Venus & The Razor Blades and Roger Taylor from Queen. Music Life in Japan published like ten pages on this party!
Yes, that is Freddy Mercury at the Queen party in ‘78. The guy on the left was my friend and mentor, photographer Richard Creamer. The dude on the far right who looks like he stuck his finger into an electrical socket is my pal and Mayor Of The Sunset Strip, the legendary Rodney Bingheimer. Freddy was a pal of ours.
Roger Taylor from Queen at their Los Angeles party published in Music Life in Japan back in 1978. Everyone was there!!
In 1978 I made a quickie trip up to Las Vegas with my best pal Rodney Bingheimer for the Queen concert and party. Queen was amazing and we were treated like kings. The party was held at the old Aladdin hotel and we all sat at this hugh dinning table with the band. Freddie, as always was a bit camera shy, but he was cool about me taking a few photos.
Concerts were a bore to shoot, but not Freddie Mercury at a Queen concert.
