Hanging out with The Maine last week on the Sunset Strip.
I want rock and roll attitude in my photos! Funny thing is that these guys in the The Maine, have no attitude. Just five normal cool dudes who adore their fans. I never saw anything like it before and it’s so refreshing.
I think The Maine may have been a bit surprised when I pulled out my old Polaroid camera to take their photo earlier this week. What I like about this process is that with the new film from Impossible Project, every frame is psychedelic and different. The colors and contrasts are everywhere!
Happy Thanksgiving!
You can bring in all the lights and glam squads you want to a photo shoot, but at the end of the day, it’s all about capturing a moment.
The Maine on The Sunset Strip this week photographed on a roll of black and white film.
I took a few rolls of black and white film on The Maine yesterday. This is one of my favorites. The band looks rather cool against the modern building.
I had a blast photographing The Maine yesterday. I told them all of these stories about the Sunset Strip, the rock gods and wild parties during the 70’s. In a decade, I will be walking down the same street telling a new band that this is the exact location where I photographed John, Kennedy, Jared, Pat and Garrett of The Maine! More photos click here.
So here was my day today with The Maine:
I got to The Roxy right before their sound check. Strolled down The Sunset Strip to look for cool photo locations. Met the band inside The Rainbow & Grill where we consumed giant hamburgers and meatball sandwiches. Showed the guys the exact booth where Led Zeppelin sat for their wild dinner parties. Took photos of the of these rock stars while everyone up and down the strip stopped to stare. All great fun.
Now I am heading out the door for their gig. Just another day here in sunny L.A.
