Cool photos from the 70's and today!
I was a teenager with a camera in 1977. That summer I drove over the hill to the SFV to Jackie Fox’s house to take some photographs. The Runaways were gods in Japan and everyone wanted fresh photos. Jackie and I did not have a stylist, but somehow we came  up with this cool photograph. I really love it and I know that she does too. I tink that Helmut would have gotten a kick out of it too.

I was too shy to meet Helmut Newton. I stood in the same room with him at one of his openings at Place Vendome in Paris and once at Le Petit Four in Los Angeles. Such a shame and my loss. What I have learned from other masters and Helmut would agree that it does not matter what kind of camera you are using. It’s  ”all in there”!

How did I get the rise out of Richard Avedon? Easy, I had just gotten back from Japan and I had one of the very first Canon Sure Shot cameras. Even Avedon had never seen one before. I count my lucky stars that I had the pleasure of meeting him and taking his photo. Don’t know how Helmut slipped though my fingers.
