After lunch yesterday at the Chateau, Andi and I paid our respects to Helmut.
Alexia Starchild handed me her point and shoot camera the other day and I made this photograph. It kind of looks a bit Helmut Newton-esque to me. Helmut had such a rich and wonderful life with June and he loved her so much. She was so supportive. I need to find my June.
Helmut Newton would have adored Caroline D’Amore. Not just for her amazing talent, but for her incredible endless legs! I need to remind myself to make her a print of this photo. Check out her New York Dolls t shirt! Remember them?
Helmut Newton and I shared something in common. We both adored the late afternoon light in Los Angeles. This is why he spent 33 winters at the Chateau in L.A. Helmut would have also adore my muse actress Stella Maeve.
I was at the Helmut Newton Foundation today in Berlin. Simply amazing!
There is a secret street in Hollywood that I recently discovered. I am not telling anyone where it is, but it reminds me of a street in Paris. Actually, it kind of reminds of of Rue Aubriot where Helmut Newton made that beautiful photograph for YSL in 1975. The print is entitled “Le Smoking”. Helmut’s model was British supermodel Jade Parfitt and mine was Alexia Starchild!
