Thank you Bloginity.com, Daniel Haim, Nick Hardy and Factory 311 for the amazing feature on The Brad Elterman story that was just posted this morning! Wow! How cool. There are photos in the feature that I have not seen in decades. CHECK IT OUT!
Today, just for my tumblr fans, I am releasing a really cool photo of Joan Jett and Sandy West from The Runaways that I took in 1978 in the courtyard of SIR Studios in Hollywood. The band was in rehearsals for their giant Japanese tour.
My biggest mistake was that I did not join the girls on that tour. My parents did not want me to cut High School for a solid week. so I stayed home. Get this, I sacrificed photographing Joan, Cherie, Lita, Sandy and Jackie in Tokyo with all the madness for some math class and PE! I learned a big lesson on that one.
Thank you Raoul Keil over at Schon magazine London for the amazing eight page interview and layout featuring my early photographs in their cool September issue. A special thank you to Nick Hardy from Factory311 for connecting all of the dots to make this feature possible. See both of you in London one day soon.
It was my pleasure to meet Boogie last night at Carmichael Gallery in Culver City. Boogie’s work is so compelling. We chatted about cameras and Japan. Two of my favorite subjects. We also have a mutual pal and agent in Nick Hardy from Factory 311. Go check out Boogie this summer.
