Without a doubt, my favorite Cherie Curie photograph. When I took it back in 1977, I probably would have not released a photo of her smoking. The Japanese record company could have flipped out. Today the photograph is all about art and no one will give a shit about the cigarette . I am supposed to have dinner with Cherie one of these days to catch up on life and everything!
I love this recent photograph of me with Cherie Currie taken at Donna Santisi’s book signing of Ask The Angeles. We look cute together!

Everyone always asks what is my favorite photograph. Well, I have so many of them that are in boxes that I have not edited or scanned yet. I found this classic over the weekend and it’s definitely on the top of my list. A classic RAW photograph of teenage twins Cherie and Marie Currie in their bedroom in 1977. Simple flash on camera and a roll of black and white film. My greatest photos of The Runaways were all done in black and white. So do you like this one????
It was just me and Cherie Currie in her bedroom back in 1977. She would lie down on the bed, slip off her shoes and pick up the latest copy of Choppers magazine. I would quietly take her photo!
When I would photograph teen stars like David Cassidy and Leif Garrett all of the magazine editors would all tell me to photograph the star in their bedroom. It was no issue for Cherie Currie to invite me in to her boudoir for some photos. Dig the Runaways poster above her bed. Classic!
I did several photo session with Cherie Currie of The Runaways. One day in 1977 I drove out to the San Fernando Valley to photograph Cherie at home. She was rather carefree during a tour of the family kitchen, placed a lollipop in her mouth and I took the photo. It is incredible how you can accessorize a photo session with a lollipop!
