I would follow Cheap Trick all over the place. I knew that I could sell every last photo of them to Music Life magazine in Japan. Here we are in Las Vegas in 1978. I was unstoppable!
Somehow I wound up at the Sunset Marquis hotel in Cheap Trick’s room where I staged this photo. They had to hold up the 16 Magazine t shirt for the editor who was standing right next to me.
Back in the 70’s if Cheap Trick came anywhere near Southern California, I was there with my camera to do a photo shoot for the Japanese magazines. Cheap Trick photos translated into cold hard cash. They were gods in Japan and every magazine wanted their photo. I would photograph them in L.A. and then show up in San Diego and Vegas. It was all great fun and Rick Nielsen was such a great subject
