Cool photos from the 70's and today!
When I was growing up and living at my parents house in the San Fernando Valley, I had this yearning to get over the hill to the Sunset Stip. It was an yearning to get over the hill to the action and freedom. By 1976, I was still in my teens and I was pretty well established at my own pad on the Sunset Strip and my trips back to the valley were seldom and only to see my family. One day in the summer of 1977 Cherie Currie called to come over to her parents house deep in the valley. She wanted me to take some photos for The Runaways Japanese record company. I was never thrilled going to the valley, but I knew that I could make some cool photographs of Cherie at home. Joining in the photo shoot was her twin sister Marie and the drop dead gorgeous Vicki Razor Blade from Venus And The Razor Blades, a Kim Fowley creation. Today, I still stay out of the valley unless it is to visit my family. I hope that you enjoy this frame which has never been published before. It’s entitled “San Fernando Valley Chicks”.
